Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: A Warm Wishes Shaped Wine Tag Tutorial

Hi there! I'm up on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Blog with a quick idea to bring sparkle into your gift giving. Using the 3D Foam Shape - 3D Foam Trees to put together a wine tag that will bring a smile to your recipient instead of using a boring wine bag.

I started with a sheet of 3D Foam Trees shapes. First I covered the surface with anti-static powder to control the glittery mess :)

Went a little crazy on the glitter - just bought a pack of 18 WONDERFUL COLORS! LOL!! So some have tri-color (just tear the liner ⅓ of the tree, add glitter and repeat two more times to achieve the effect), silver, teal, yellow, etc.

After I decided which tree to use, I took off its trunk liner and colored it with Stamper's Big Brush Chestnut Pen - I colored two coats (dry between coats).

AND that's all I'm going to show you HERE! HA! You'll have to visit my A Warm Wishes Shaped Wine Tag Tutorial post on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Blog for the rest of the tutorial and full supplies list! LOL!!

Thank you for visiting and see you over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Blog!

Mixed Media Family Canvas Tutorial

I created a mixed media canvas themed around my family and maybe this is something for you to try and give as a gift. Using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products, I secured the family photo to the die cut mat and "popped" up it for dimension. Let's get started!

For the background, I used Faber Castell® Design Memory Craft® Chalkboard Paint and Gelato® colors. I love how the black contrasts against the colors :) By using the water mister and baby wipes, I was able to blend into a wonderful background.

The butterfly stencil from StencilGirl Products was my inspiration for the canvas. Isn't the design amazing and designed by my uber talented friend, Maria McGuire! I used E-Z Runner® Repositionable Dots to secure the stencil to the canvas. When you're done, just rub off the dots.

I cut/embossed Labels Thirty-Nine Decorative Accents die with thin chipboard to use as an anchor for the other side of my dark butterfly. Next paint the entire piece with Chalkboard paint.

Metallic colors are in trend so I edged with Design Memory Craft® Champagne Gold Gelato® to my photo and canvas for a subtle highlight. Next I melted thin slivers of the color with water using my Palette knife on wax paper, and flicked with a watercolor brush to create splatters.

After assembling everything, I placed enamel dots and sequins with Dodz™ Small. Lastly, I hand wrote "FAMILY - we don't have our act together but together, we have it all!" LOVE it! LOL! Another look at the finished canvas...

Project Supplies:

SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L®:3D Foam Squares - Black, Regular, Dodz™ Small and E-Z Runner® Tape Permanent Strips - Refillable and Repositionable Dots
Coloring: Faber Castell® Design Memory Craft® (Design Memory Craft® Gelato® - Champagne, Mango, Guava and Red Cherry; Textural Accents - Chalkboard Paint) and Tools (Palette Knife, WaterColor Brush)
Dies: Spellbinders® Creative Arts (S4-463 Labels Thirty-Nine Decorative Accents and Spellbinders Grand Calibur Die Cutting and Embossing Machine)
Stencil - StencilGirl Products (Butterfly Stencil by Maria McGuire)
Enamel Dots - My Mind's Eye
Sequins - Hazel & Ruby
Canvas: Artist's Loft
Other: Thin Chipboard; Water Mister; Wax Paper

JAPAN in November!

Hey all! Didn't realize it's been a month since I last posted...most of November I've been away in Japan. My mother was seriously ill at the beginning of the year and recently started doing rehabilitation (aka starting walking again, etc.) - won't go into details but she is making her slow and good recovery :) I went to harass her and made sure she was doing what she should be! LOL!!

We walked almost every day for two weeks and for SEVERAL HOURS! Her weekly rehab has nothing on us! HA! These are several images that are around my mom's neighborhood....for those who are familiar with Tokyo - it's the Azabu Juban area. WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY!

My mom's apt building

Azabu Juban Entrance/Subway Sta.

Juban Open Market

Mt. Fuji at Sunset (sorry - bad picture)

Tokyo Tower

Most of these pictures were not shared on FaceBook because they were in my NIKON DSLR! LOL!! Hopefully I can get back there in June 2015 - fingers crossed. Hoping to post more soon but have CHA prep work to do which has taken up my time and holiday - no turkey this year. Hanging in there :)

Thanks for visiting!

Halloween Burlap BOO Banner

Today, I wanted to share my Halloween Burlap BOO Banner! So I collected most of my supplies at my Michaels Store in Schaumburg (IL) - SHOUT OUT to them!! This is what I created....

Project Supplies:
Paper - Strathmore® (Mixed Media Pad), DCWV (Burlap Paper Pad) and DoodleBug Designs (Haunted Manor Collection)
Dies - A Jillian Vance Design Custom Dies by Spellbinders® (Banner {die}tails Nested Die Set) and Spellbinders® Creative Arts (S4-333 Spider Web (retired), S5-053 Pumpkin Accents and the Grand Calibur Machine)
Stamp - JustRite® Papercraft (Spider Web Background Cling Stamp)
Inks – IMAGINE Craft®/TSUKINEKO® (Memento Luxe - Wedding Dress)
Coloring - Faber Castell® Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® (Mango and Tangerine), Chalkboard Paint, Pastel Pencils (White and Orange) and Stamper's Big Brush Pens (Walnut Brown, Orange Glaze and Permanent Green Olive)
Tools - Fiskars® (Amplify™ Mixed Media Scissors) and We R Memory Keepers (Crop-A-Dile)
Glitter - Ranger Ink (Stickles)
Trim - May Arts (Green Netting and Ghost) and Recollections (Jute)
Adhesives - SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L® (Crafty Power Tape, 3D Foam Squares and Dodz™ Medium)
Other: Googlie Eyes

Let's get started...
I started with the top panel (the letters) since they were embellished the most... I used Mixed Media paper because it can handle anything - water, paint, coloring, stamping...EVERYTHING! LOL!

For colors, I blended my Faber Castell® Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® in two colors (Mango & Tangerine) and my water mister. LOVE how it turned out and so easy :)

Next I add these amazing self-adhesive and re-positionable stencils from Hazel & Ruby. You can use them over and over again! They come in different alphas and shapes. I used Blindside set.

Then I covered the entire surface with black chalkboard paint. For my banner, I did about three coats with dry time in between coats. While damp, I took off the letters and wipe them clean with a baby wipe. Set aside all to dry.

As those panels are drying, I cut and embossed the base banner using burlap paper from DCWV with my ribbon tail dies and the Grand Calibur Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

OR hand cut your banners using Fiskars Amplify Mixed Media Scissors - cuts like BUTTAH!!

Pictured below are some ways I embellished the top panels of my banner....stamping, cut/embossing dies, stenciling, coloring and punching holes for the jute.

Another look at the finished project...

A majority of materials were purchased at my local Michaels Store! I finally used up my gift card that I had for at least two years - LOL!

With the gift giving season being around the corner, I became aware of Raise and their cool concept!

"Now more than ever, people need to get the most out of their money. Raise helps put the purchase power back into the hands of the consumer, and that’s what giving yourself a raise is all about." - George Bousis, Founder & CEO

I love that! What is Raise? Raise is an online gift card marketplace where you can sell gift cards for cash or buy discount gift cards to all of your favorite brands. Launched in 2013, makes changes in the gift card industry. Saving money is often associated with discounts so they are setting out to redefine the conversation. Interested? GO check them out - they have Michaels gift cards as well as other craft gift cards!!

Hope everyone has a FUN & SAFE Halloween! Excited to see some cute goulies at our doorstep!

World Card Making Day: You Make My Heart Sing by Authentique Paper

Today is World Card Making Day and I am excited to share with you a card I created with Authentique Paper's newest collection, Harmony.

I have to showcase their newest addition to their line up - Card Making Stack and Authentic Life Cards Pack!! They are amazing and cut my card making time in no time :)

The Card Making Stack has 18 sheets of a collection and are pre-scored in the middle to create an A2 sized card (4¼ x 5½").

The Authentic Life Cards are versatile - you can use them in pocket scrapbooking, journaling box, ATC (Artist Trading Cards)...anything! But I choose to use it as my card panel. Don't you love the sentiment of this one?

I cut/embossed A2 Tranquil Moments Die #4 (the smallest size die is Die #1) with red cardstock, using Spellbinders® Grand Calibur® Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. To create a beautiful mat for the sentiment. Spellbinders Tool 'n One™ to take out my die template.

So how do you put adhesive on your intricate die cuts? I use Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Adhesive Sheets. Pull the liner back from the adhesive sheet, place your die cut on to the sticky side, cover with the liner and rub or burnish the die cut. Easy, compact and no machine to carry around! LOVE it!

Assemble the pieces. Make sure that the sentiment is adhered with 3D Foam Squares for dimension. Add pearls and it's ready to send! Here's a second look!

Project Supplies:
Authentique Paper – Card Making Stack and Authentic Life Cards Pack (Harmony Collection)
Spellbinders® Creative Arts - S5-216 A2 Tranquil Moments, Tool 'n One and Grand Calibur Machine
Cardstock - WorldWin Papers (Red Cardinal Cardstock)
Pearls - Want2Scrap©
Adhesives - SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L® (Adhesive Sheet and 3D Foam Squares)

Next time you are in a pinch, grab Authentique Paper's Card Making Stack and Life Cards Pack. Took me 10 mins to create this!
