KURETAKE: FaceBook Challenge

KURETAKE ZIG® is having a KURETAKE UK FaceBook Challenge! Do you have those ZIG Writer Pens or the Two Way Glue™?! I know you do! LOL! Create a homemade Christmas decoration with any of their products, take a picture and post on KURETAKE UK FaceBook Page to enter to win a prize package (£50 worth) !!

I created with chipboard, patterned papers, Spellbinders™ Paper Arts die templates and of course, KURETAKE ZIG products to make my holiday decoration!

Seasons Greetings Frame by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Patterned Paper: Authentique Paper (Festive Collection); Markers: KURETAKE ZIG (Brushables/Spring Green Two Way Glue and Wink Of Stella/Clear); Bling: Creative Impressions; Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts (LF-126 Grand Squares, S5-122 Ribbon Banners LG and S5-055 Layered Poinsettia); Photo Corners: SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L (White); Other: Chipboard, Self-Adhesive Easel

First I created the base with LF-126 Grand Squares die cut in chipboard and Authentique Paper's patterned paper. Adhere together with KURETAKE ZIG Two Way Glue.

Next I edged the sides with KURETAKE ZIG's Brushable Spring Green marker for a uniformed edge.

With the same Brushable marker, I doodled with both tips (two tones of green) around the edges to embellish.

I cut/embossed S5-055 Layered Poinsettia with "merry" patterned paper and swiped KURETAKE ZIG's Wink of Stella Clear onto the petals for extra sparkle.

With the same set, I stenciled the leaves with the Brushable marker.

I also colored the white photo corners to match up with the rest of the frame and assembled as shown in the finished project.

To finish, I cut/embossed a banner die from Ribbon Banners LG set, titled it "Seasons Greetings" and placed a flower rhinestone in between. Here's a second look...

Loved how it turned out! What will you be making for the holidays?
Don't forget to enter KURETAKE UK FaceBook Challenge (ends December 19th)!

Thanks for stopping by!!

ScrapMart: Thanksgiving Thanks

Hope my friends in the U.S. had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a VERY low key but productive day - opened windows (in the 60s!) and cleaned the entire house, top to bottom! LOL! Today, it's in the low 30s with sprinkles of snow?! Only in Chicago! LOL!!

With all the Thanksgiving festivities, you will need to thank your host (unless you are the host - lol!), right? So I created a series of thank you card just for you :0)

Market Square Card Folder and Cards by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: American Crafts; Card Base: Core'dinations (David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking System); Patterned Papers, Cardstock Stickers, Stickers, Flowers: FarmHouse Paper Company (Market Square Collection); Marker: KURETAKE ZIG (Black Writer); Pearls: KaiserCraft, Want2Scrap and Queen & Co.; Trim: Maya Road; Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts (S2-013 Medallion Two, S2-014 Medallion One, S2-017 Medallion Three, S2-019 Grate Works, S2-021 Medallion Four, S4-161 Labels One, S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A and S5-135 A-2 Fancy Ribbon Threader); Adhesive: ScraPerfect (the Best Glue Ever); Other: Brown Satin Ribbon

I searched online for a folder to fit cards in and found several but I like Mirkwood Designs Card Folder the best. For the inside, I covered with patterned paper and embellished various stickers (border, chipboard and regular) from FarmHouse Paper's Market Square Collection.

On the front, I cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ die templates: S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A, S5-135 A-2 Fancy Ribbon Threader, S4-161 Labels One and S2-017 Medallion Three. To finish, I placed the flower in the center, threaded ribbon, tied a bow and added pearls.

For the cards, I used S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A on all and then placed various Spellbinders Die D-Lites™ (Upper Left ClockWise: S2-019 Grate Works, S2-021 Medallion Four, S2-013 Medallion Two and S2-014 Medallion One), highlighting one for each card front.

To finish, I added trim, pearls, flowers and wrote a sentiment on the stickers with my ZIG Writer. The folder only holds two but I got carried away and created four! These Die D-Lites are just so cute!!

All the Spellbinders Die Templates are available at Scrap-mart.com! If the die you are looking for is not listed, check back later as we just had a big blow out sale on them and they will need to reorder.

Hope these cards give you some ideas for those thank you cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

KURETAKE: Thanksgiving Place Card

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and I hope that you are with loved ones or at least have plans! We are spending a quiet day with just the four of us. But today, I posted on KURETAKE ZIG® Blog featuring this Thanksgiving Place Card post!

A couple of weeks ago, KURETAKE ZIG sent me box templates to do projects with them. SOoo I did something "OUT OF THE BOX" with Gift Box Template Heart and use it as a place card! LOL!

Thanksgiving Place Card by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: Darice; Patterned Paper and Stickers: Authentique Paper (Thankful Collection); Gift Box Template HeartBlack ZIG Writer and ZIG 2-Way Glue Chisel Tip: KURETAKE ZIG; Ink and Inking Tool: Ranger; Tag and String: Core'dinations (David Tutera Celebrate Collection); Die: Spellbinders Paper Art (S2-002 Cattails); Adhesive: ScraPefect (the Best Glue Ever)

Trace the Gift Box Template Heart with pencil and cut. I erased the pencil marks with a white eraser.

TIP: When scoring, I flipped the template over and matched the cut paper with the score lines. SO MUCH EASIER and no second guessing.

With the ZIG 2-Way Glue Chisel Tip, I assembled the box. Love this adhesive because when the liquid is blue, it's permanent and when it's clear, it's repositionable (aka 2-WAYS to use it)!

Then I inked the edges with Distress Ink for a finished look.

I used the ZIG 2-Way Glue Chisel Tip and adhered three boxes together...are they starting to look like turkey feathers?! LOL!! Next, I accordion folded a strip of patterned paper. Then I added the cattails die cut (I trimmed a little off) and stickers. I wrote my son's name on a tag with the black ZIG WRITER Pen...done!

These can be filled with candy, little toys..anything! Since Hiro is a teen, didn't want to make it too cute for him! HA!

To my friends in the U.S., have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I am thankful for your friendship and for always taking the time to leave me comment - THANK YOU!!

As always, thank you for stopping by!

FarmHouse Paper Co.: Happy Birthday!

Today I created a masculine birthday card for a sweet friend who is celebrating a birthday today! This theme always stumps me and I don't know why...I am a wife, mom of boys and sister to two wonderful brothers. So what's my hang up?! LOL!!

FarmHouse Paper Company made it SO EASY with their Market Square Collection...everything I used is from them.

Happy Birthday by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Card Base: Core'dinations (David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking System); Patterned Papers, Cardstock Stickers and Stickers: FarmHouse Paper Company (Market Square Collection); Epoxy Sticker: Epiphany Crafts (Bubble Caps Round 14); Twine: May Arts; Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts (S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A, S5-132 A-2 Matting Basics B); Adhesive: ScraPerfect (the Best Glue Ever); Other: Computer Font (Happy Birthday)

I used Spellbinders™ Paper Arts Nestabilities® Card Creator series for the card front and added Market Square stickers to form a cluster to come up with this card :)

ScrapMart: Gracias

When Spellbinders™ Paper Arts came out with Die D-Lites™ die templates, I was THRILLED! Don't get me wrong I LOVE my Spellbinders die templates! But I just LOVE the smaller sizes :0)

I created a window card using D2-017 Medallion Three with my favorite paper manufacturers, Authentique Paper and Core'dination ColorCore Cardstock®!

Gracias Window Card by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock (Chocolate Box Collection); Patterned Papers: Authentique Paper (Lively Collection); Stamp: A Jillian Vance Design (Thank You Stamp Set); Ink: Ranger Ink (Distress Ink) and VersaMark (TSUKINEKO); Pearl: Want2Scrap; Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts (S2-017 Medallion Three, S4-116 Standard Circles SM and S4-324 Ribbon Banners); Adhesives: ScraPerfect (the Best Glue Ever) and SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L (3D Square Foams); Other: Pink Embossing Powder

Border Die: As a singular shape, it creates a solid die cut.

Border NESTED with Inset Die: Creates a beautiful accent.

NOTE:
Medallion Three set has two dies (BORDER DIE & INSET DIE). The BORDER DIE has two different uses - 1) a singular shape: it creates solid die cut; 2) nested with INSET DIE: it creates a beautiful accent. The INSET DIE used alone: creates a wonderful embedded pattern.

In my project, I used the BORDER DIE to cut out my window. The INSET DIE was used only to emboss a beautiful pattern into my cardstock. Sand all to let the pink come out of the inner core of the cardstock for a beautiful highlight!

REMEMBER ALL ARE AVAILABLE AT Scrap-mart.com!! Get them while they are in stock - they are popular :0)

Gracias!! Thanks for stopping by!

Core'dinations: Stars N Stripes Thank You

Some may know that I am on the Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock® Card Design Team. We are fortunate to be working with David Tutera™ Celebrate Card System (exclusive to JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores®).

I haven't posted much about it as we're busy creating tutorials on Core'dinations.com under David Tutera Cards' How-To section. In the Congratulations category, I have three tutorials up (Baby Congrats, Blue Congrats and Chevron Congrats) - SO EXCITED!!

I'd like to share a card that I created with the card system and one of my favorite paper manufacturer, Authentique Paper...PERFECT FOR OUR VETERANS!

Stars N Stripes Thank You by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - 5½ x 5½" White Cardbase, A7 Layer Bulk Sheets, Sentiment Sticker and Sand It Gadget: David Tutera Celebrate Card System; Patterned Paper: Authentique Paper (Glory Collection); Ink: Ranger (Distress Ink); Trendy Tape: Queen & Co.; Folder: Sizzix; Adhesive: ScraPerfect (the Best Glue Ever)

First I took a blue A7 Layer Bulk Blue Sheet and used a star design embossing folder. I used the Sand It Gadget to highlight the embossing.

Next, I trimmed the embossed cardstock and patterned paper to size and adhered both papers to the 5½ x 5½" card base.

Then I placed two layers of Queen & Co. Trendy Tape to cover the middle where the two papers meet. Edge the card base with red ink and add the sentiment as shown below.

A second look at the card...

BIG THANK YOU TO OUR VETERANS & THEIR FAMILIES!!
APPRECIATION to our veterans - past, present and future!!

Thanks for stopping by!

ScrapMart: 20 Years!

Today my hubby and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary!! We have plans to go to our favorite French Bistro restaurant to pound some oysters and drink champagne :0)

We had a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony and a western style champagne luncheon at Chicago's Swissotel (overlooking Lake Michigan)...it was a LONG but WONDERFUL DAY!

20 Years of Love by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Patterned Papers and Stickers: Authentique Papers (Thankful Collection); Ink: Ranger; Bling: Want2Scrap; Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts (S2-003 Fantastic Flourish Three, S2-020 Medallion Five, S5-152 Fancy Lattice, S5-123 Asian Accents and LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One); Adhesive: ScraPerfect (the Best Glue Ever) and SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L (Black 3D Foam Squares)

We started with a morning wedding ceremony, a luncheon reception, a KARAOKE cocktail reception (younger crowd) and a post party in our two story honeymoon suite! Friends came from around the world so we made sure to spend time with them all.

In this page, I added NEW Spellbinders™ Die D-Lites™ S2-003 Fantastic Flourish Three and S2-020 Medallion Five die templates. This special collection are smaller in size but they have all the function you expect from Spellbinders - cut, emboss and stencil. Perfect for those smaller size projects up to larger sizes including my page. The price point you cannot beat and Scrap-mart.com made it hard to resist...just sayin'! Heehee!!

Next I pulled out these swirly bling from Want2Scrap - they were PERFECT in color and style. To fit the corner of the page, I cut them apart and placed as shown. I also used some bling around the circle (seen in finished picture).

I decided to use Authentique Paper's November Sketch Challenge for my page design - appropriate as I am using their Thankful Collection! LOL!! The circle die cut and the page edges were inked.

For the cluster, I cut/embossed S2-003 Fantastic Flourish Three die twice (a single die cut and one solid shape) and assembled. Stickers were used as my title and subtitle. Using Black 3D Foam Squares, I layered a few of the sticker pieces (a smaller circle was added later) and topped it with a little bling.

Here's another look at the page...

If I had to do it all over again, would do this in a heart beat! WOW, 20 YEARS!! Love ya, Hosho! Thanks for putting up with me ;0P

Thank YOU for stopping by!! xo
