Also in commemoration of the Cupcake Inspirations Group's 500th challenge, they are featuring InkyStamper! So Excited! With my card, we are going to use a masking technique to get the most out of your stamp. Come let me show you how!
**I receive products from InkyStamper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**
Cupcake Birthday Card Steps
Grab the Cupcake Stamp and Die Set. Let's stamp Ralph and his cupcake image with black ink on white cardstock. Place its matching die and die-cut the image out. Set aside. Since I have the ink out, let's work on the masking step next.Mask Out Ralph
Using a sticky note sheet, I stamped and die-cut Ralph with the cupcake. Then I fussy cut Ralph and his tail out. Ink the stamp with black ink first and then cover Ralph and his tail with the mask.Next, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, repeat one more time to get a total of two cupcakes. Connect the lines with a black marker and cover any unwanted lines with a white Gelly Pen.
The cupcake tops were colored with Gelatos (Guava, Butter Cream + Aqua Dolce). The lines in the tops were touched up with a black artist pen.
When the colors dried, I added "sprinkles" in a combination of Stickle Glitter in Lavender, Turquoise, Lime Green, Candy Cane + Cotton Candy, and Liquid Pearls in Peacock, Ocean Blue + Pumpkin.
The next layer cut a piece of 5.25 x 2.5-inch pink cardstock and die-cut two 1 x 6.5-inch stitched scalloped borders out of white cardstock. Emboss the pink cardstock with a stripe design embossing folder.
Add each border on the top and bottom with the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong adhesive. Trim off the excess border pieces. Using the same adhesive, center the layer on the card front.
Using leftover 3D Foam Circles, I cut them apart and added them to the backs of all the cupcakes. Place each one on the card front. Add sequins with Adhesive Dots Micro and finish!
Another look at the finished card.

Colorful Ralph
To be conservative, I colored Ralph lightly with a combination of watercolor pencils in grays (#234 + #273) and pinks (#119 + #131).Cute Cupcake Colors
Using the patterned paper as inspiration, I colored the cupcakes in pastels. I started from the bottom up for no reason. LOL! The cake was watercolored in a combination of browns (#183 + #187). The liner I tried to match the stripes in lavender and blue (#139 + #140). Keep adding color until you get the desired look.
Add the Layers
As the glittered accents dry, I am cutting the card panels for my A2 (5.5 x 4.25-inch) card base. Cut a piece of 5.25 x 4-inch pink cardstock and 5 x 3.75-inch patterned paper. Layer the two pieces together and adhere with the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong adhesive.
