InkyStamper: Cupcake Kind of Birthday Card with Cupcake Inspirations

This is my first project with InkyStamper's NEWEST RELEASE called Cupcake! This set is a part of the Ralph and Rosie Stamp Series - aren't they fun?!

Also in commemoration of the Cupcake Inspirations Group's 500th challenge, they are featuring InkyStamper! So Excited! With my card, we are going to use a masking technique to get the most out of your stamp. Come let me show you how!

**I receive products from InkyStamper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Cupcake Birthday Card Steps

Grab the Cupcake Stamp and Die Set. Let's stamp Ralph and his cupcake image with black ink on white cardstock. Place its matching die and die-cut the image out. Set aside. Since I have the ink out, let's work on the masking step next.

Mask Out Ralph

Using a sticky note sheet, I stamped and die-cut Ralph with the cupcake. Then I fussy cut Ralph and his tail out. Ink the stamp with black ink first and then cover Ralph and his tail with the mask.

Next, stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, repeat one more time to get a total of two cupcakes. Connect the lines with a black marker and cover any unwanted lines with a white Gelly Pen.

Colorful Ralph

To be conservative, I colored Ralph lightly with a combination of watercolor pencils in grays (#234 + #273) and pinks (#119 + #131).

Cute Cupcake Colors

Using the patterned paper as inspiration, I colored the cupcakes in pastels. I started from the bottom up for no reason. LOL! The cake was watercolored in a combination of browns (#183 + #187). The liner I tried to match the stripes in lavender and blue (#139 + #140). Keep adding color until you get the desired look.

The cupcake tops were colored with Gelatos (Guava, Butter Cream + Aqua Dolce). The lines in the tops were touched up with a black artist pen.

When the colors dried, I added "sprinkles" in a combination of Stickle Glitter in Lavender, Turquoise, Lime Green, Candy Cane + Cotton Candy, and Liquid Pearls in Peacock, Ocean Blue + Pumpkin.

Add the Layers

As the glittered accents dry, I am cutting the card panels for my A2 (5.5 x 4.25-inch) card base. Cut a piece of 5.25 x 4-inch pink cardstock and 5 x 3.75-inch patterned paper. Layer the two pieces together and adhere with the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong adhesive.

The next layer cut a piece of 5.25 x 2.5-inch pink cardstock and die-cut two 1 x 6.5-inch stitched scalloped borders out of white cardstock. Emboss the pink cardstock with a stripe design embossing folder.

Add each border on the top and bottom with the E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong adhesive. Trim off the excess border pieces. Using the same adhesive, center the layer on the card front.

Using leftover 3D Foam Circles, I cut them apart and added them to the backs of all the cupcakes. Place each one on the card front. Add sequins with Adhesive Dots Micro and finish!

Another look at the finished card.

TaDa Creative Studios: Framed Butterfly Card

Hello! I'm up on TaDa Creative Studios' FaceBook post :0) and special bonus today - it's my niece's 9th birthday!!! Unfortunately, we are worlds apart - she in Japan and me here in the States so I created a card with her in mind!

Framed Butterfly by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: The Paper Company; Patterned Paper: TaDa Creative Studios (Goody Two Shoes Collection); Pearls; KaiserCraft; Dies & Embossing Folder: Spellbinders™ Paper Arts (S4-320 Nested Butterflies Two, S4-357 Spiral Blossoms Three, S4-356 Floral Ovals, S4-110 Classic Ovals LG & EL-006 Mystic); Adhesives: ScraPerfect (The Best Glue Ever)

I used the Goody Two Shoes Collection (Garden Girl, Straight Laced and Fancy Schmancy papers) and love how it turned out.

Note the embossing from Spellbinders M-Bossabilities™ folders - reversible/two sided designs!! I'm loving the new S4-356 Floral Ovals - just nest S4-110 Classic Ovals LG to create a beautiful frame. I put all my die templates except the M-Bossabilities folder through my Spellbinders Grand Calibur® machine - saves time!! Took me all of 10 minutes to put together, if even.

Happy Birthday, Jessie!!! May all your wishes come true today and if they don't, ask Daddy! LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!!

Let The Routine Begin!

Routine for me or the boys? LOL!!

Happy First Day of School, boys!!

Today is the first day of school for my boys. My youngest is entering high school this year...sigh. I hope they enjoy their high school and that they stay in one school! I, on the other hand, attended three high schools (York Community H.S., Elmhurst IL; Franklin Road Academy, Nashville TN; Am. School In Japan, Tokyo JPN) so you can imagine when I see a classmate, I sometimes pause to think which school he/she is from! LOL!!

Kwansei Gakuin University Chicago Dinner

Speaking of school, my husband's university chancellor was in the country along with the alumni director. Yes, the chancellor is female and an American! LOL!! My husband's unversity has an American/international background in its founding. Don't let the looks fool you - her Japanese is PERFECT!! After all the preparation and hard work, the dinner was a success. It was held at Maggianos in Schuamburg IL in one of the upstairs rooms....BEAUTIFUL! I was thrilled to hear that Chancellor Grubel is also an international school graduate, Nagoya Int'l School! Having an international school background, no matter what school, creates such a wonderful bond of friendship.
