Spellbinders Whimsical Woodland Blog Fest - Day 1 (Woodland Happy Birthday Shaped Card Tutorial)

Greetings! I am super excited to be participating in Spellbinders® Creative Arts Whimsical Woodland Blog Fest - Day 1 with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®!!

Let your imagination wander through an imaginary, whimsical world with Spellbinders new Woodland Collection. We are "sneak peeking" this collection that features a Forest Fox, a Woodland Owl, Stylized Flowers, Wreath, Pinecones and Mushrooms. I get to show you the Forest Fox set (coming soon) and pair it with S6-013 5 x 7 Modern Stationery set.

I couldn't make up my mind so I created a birthday ensemble. LOL! It's masculine and LOVEd how it turned out! Since World Card Making Day is coming up, I'm showcasing my shaped card.

ScrapMart: World Card Making Day

Today is World Card Making Day and I am pleased to be part of the bloggers participating!

I created a couple of cards that were from the Sugar Hill Collection of FarmHouse Paper Company, a new paper company that made its debut at the 2012 Summer Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) trade show in July.

I also embellished the inside of the card with a maple die cut from S5-120 Fall Foliage and a chipboard sentiment from FarmHouse Paper Company. The edges were also inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I made another shaped card using S4-374 Country Charm set's jar die. LOVEd how this turned out - very simple yet has just enough impact :0)

Today, I am attending a mini charity crop for Crop For a Cause, Making MS a Memory. I've been going for five years since the beginning. SO PROUD of my sweet friend Laura for organizing such an amazing event! The big one is Saturday, March 2nd 2013 - come join us if you are in the Chicago area!

2011 World Card Making Day - Part 2!

Wanted to post last night but I passed out once I got home from the crop...too much talking and laughing? LOL!!! A SHOUT OUT to my tablemates and sweet friends - thanks for putting up with me :) The power of the internet...we met through some kind of connection with it and the circle of friends keep getting wider and wider!!

2011 World Card Making Day!!

Hope you are ready to create some cards this day of World Card Making!! I am at a crop and plan/hope to create some more...depending on how chatty we get. LOL!!!

I took the afternoon yesterday relaxing at my LSS, Craft Fancy, in Arlington Hts. IL. Well, it was more productive as I ended up selling a handful of Spellbinders™ die templates to fellow crafters - LOVE my Spellbinders die templates!! They also had a lunchtime MnT and who couldn't resist that!

Another favorite shape is definitely the Post Stamp die template. I also got it in the Spellbinders Edgeabilities® too - E-8 Classic Postage Stamp!! Once I create something with that die template - I will share.

2011 World Card Making Day!

Can't believe it's already coming up on October 1st! If you participated last year, you know there is a contest with this event :)

One of my favorite stamp images - so pretty and sparkles so well with the pink glitter embossing powder. Love how it picks up the fine details!
