JustRIte: Stitched Flower Vintage Tags Clear Stamps

Today, I am introducing JustRite® PaperCraft’s March 2014 ReleaseStitched Flowers Vintage Tags Clear Stamps to create a 12 x 12" scrapbook page.

I was cleaning the basement when I came across this picture of my two boys when they were CUTE! Now they're just teenagers - HA! Needless to say, my basement is still a mess but I have a wonderful scrapbook page (BIG GRIN)! LOL!!

I stamped two different flower images on patterned papers and cardstock. JustRite has SVG Stitched Flowers Vintage Tags Digital Cut Download for this set if you have an electronic cutting machine. Click to see more details. Since I don't have a machine yet, I fussy cut mine and adhered with a combination of Dodz and 3D Foam Squares. The centers were embellished with buttons - LOVE it!

For the top left edge accent, I stamped a Vintage Tag, cut/embossed with Vintage Tag Dies and folded in half to adhere to the edge. Add letter stickers, S5-143 Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Butterfly (antenna) die and sequins.

I loved that JustRite included a "movement" line stamp for the butterfly = PERFECT :)

I used the words "Dreams" and "Wishes" from the set to create the title on top of a sanded S5-194 Pearl Effects die cut with sequins.

Here's a second look...

AJVD: HOOray Graduate Stamp Set

Do you know about A Jillian Vance Design (AJVD)? It's a stamp company founded by a savvy teen, Jillian Vance, who creates the most wonderful stamp sets along with her mom and friends! LOVE them to pieces and am a FAN~!

Today, I am showing off the HOOray Graduate Stamp Set. I had requested this theme because of my son's upcoming high school graduation. They even let me include a couple of design ideas that I had in my brain (think stick people like images)...they made it happen!! LOL!!!! Jillian listens to her customers :)

I love this set because I can use this for my other son when he graduates in 2015! Plus it has a little thank you for your teacher, coach, counselor and even a mentor! A good mix of images and text :)

My first card I used the Background Builder Series Sunburst Swirl Stamp to create this crazy fun graduate card...note the googly eyes! LOL!! I pick these colors because they are my son's school colors...

The second card is a shaped card based on Spellbinders® popular Labels One dies (from base to card front: Grand Decorative Labels One, Decorative Labels One and Labels One dies). Note that I used the chalkboard technique for my card front = LOVE!!

To create my shaped card, I cut/embossed two of the Grand Decorative Labels One die cuts. I scored one (the back) ¾" in from the top. Spread wet adhesive on the scored ¾" area and match up the second die cut to form the card.

Endless Borders single circle stamp help create a chalky background for my shaped card base.

When assembled, this is the end result...an elegant but chalky effect! LOL!

Lastly, I used a mini sack to put a gift card in for a special teacher. With AJVD exclusive Banner {die}tails Die Set die set and Endless Borders circle border stamp, I was able to create a cool background to highlight HOOray Graduate Stamp Set Thank You Teacher stamp that was cut/embossed with Spellbinders Media Mixáge™ Circles Three die for its parts.

Just assemble. I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L's 3D Foam Squares to create dimension for the stamped circle die cut...just the right touch!

Project Supplies:
AJVD Stamps - HOOray Graduate Stamp Set, Sunburst Swirl and Endless Borders
AJVD Custom Dies - Banner {die}tails Die Set
Spellbinders Paper Arts - Grand Decorative Labels One, Decorative Labels One, Labels One and Media Mixáge Circles Three

Embossing Powder - Stampendous (Detailed White)
Coloring - Faber Castell (Gelato - White)

JustRite: May 2013 Release - Day 5

Before I forget, I wanted to let you know about JustRite® Papercraft Spring Fling Sale! going on NOW until this Sunday (May 12). That includes any floral themed sets in the new May 2013 Releases! WOOHOO~!

OK...on to Day Five of JustRite Papercraft's May 2013 Release, we are introducing Samantha Walker Designs of All Boy and Pattern Basics sets!

I used a little of both sets to create a fun CAS (Clean And Simple) scrapbook page. This little boy is now a high school senior....don't think he'll be thrilled to see this out in "public!" LOL!! BIG DIFFERENCE from yesterday's layout! Heehee~!

Samantha Walkerデザインの新しいスタンプセット(All BoyPattern Basics)の紹介です。シンプルなレイアウトを完成。長男の小さい時の写真です。お父さんとお馬さんごっこ。。。

I wanted to share how I colored the tag with my newly acquired Faber-Castell Gelatos Color Gift Set! Cover tag with Gesso and dry. Draw circles in different colors and sizes. Lightly mist the tag with water and blot with paper towel to make the pattern lighter...this took about three-four times, dry time in between. Using the Pattern Basics stars stamp, create the background as shown.

The other embellishment I wanted to cover was the Play Time star title...the top image I nested all the dies in the Stars Five set and cut/emboss. I used two different colors so you can see it better. To create the layered star, you just need to shift your second die cut (green) and it will look like the blue/green die cut. The bottom image is how I created my title in one color :)

Hope that some of you will use these techniques to create your own FABULOUS projects! Here's another look at the layout...

Project Supplies:
JustRite Papercraft Stamps - All Boy and Pattern Basics
Spellbinders™ Creative Arts - S4-092 Stars Five and LF-114 Grand Circles
Inks - TSUKINEKO®/Imagine Craft (VersaMark and Memento: Paris Dusk)
Embossing Powder - Stampendous (Detail White)
Gesso - Liquitex
Coloring - Faber Castell (Gelatos)
Cardstock - Darice
Patterned Papers - Simple Stories (Summer Fresh Collection)
Mister - Ranger Ink
Adhesives - SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™ (E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares)
Other - Brad, Tag

JustRite: May 2013 Release - Day 4

For today's JustRite® Papercraft May 2013 Release, we are introducing three stamp sets, all with a "journey" theme. I used two sets (Monogram Your Journey and The Journey Background Stamp) and a sneak peek of tomorrow's release, Pattern Basics set, to create my oldest son's scrapbook page, "A Young Man's Adventure".

今日は、5月新スタンプセット Explore Vintage Labels Four, Monogram Your Journey & The Journey Background Stampの紹介です。三つの中から、2つのセット を使って、レイアト完成しました。来月、長男が高校から卒業の予定です。 記念として、下記のレイアウトを作りました。

I wanted to make the photo look bigger so I triple matted it, used three different patterned papers for interest. All the edges were distressed using my paper edger.

Next, I determined where to place the matted photo...

The Pattern Basics set was perfect for an accent border. I wasn't sure which color to use so I tested the area behind the photo to determine which looked the best. Note that I used two patterns together to create an argyle border.

The title was from Authentique Paper's Strong Collection sticker sheet. I crossed out the "boy" and wrote "Young Man's" to fit the theme :) Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ 3D Square Foams were used to create dimension and then used ScraPerfect's Perfect Crafting Pouch to "de-stick" the sticker.

For the background stamp embellishment (shown on the lower right corner of the page), I did the following steps:

Stamped the image on cream cardstock.

Torn the edge close as possible to edge.

Crumple paper, inked and misted for desired coloring.

Stamped the image three times: white cardstock x 2 and craft foil once. Fussy cut the sentiment on cardstock and anchor on craft foil. Add twine. Assemble pieces and adhere to page.

LOVE how this turned out and one to add to his high school scrapbook album :)

ScrapMart: 2013 Happy New Year!!

Hope your Christmas was a wonderful one! Ours was very quiet and I LOVE it that way! LOL!! This year we opted out of the tradition turkey. We went with the traditional NABE (one pot) dinner with a little bit of SAKE and ended with our Japanese Christmas cake! YUM~!!

These are my boys including the hubster in the middle :)

OK..and a picture of me with my "little" monkeys! HA!

New Year's Day is around the corner and I created a card using a combination of Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ Folder - EL-014 Holiday Magic and Spellbinders Shapeabilities® Cut·Fold·Tuck die template - S5-112 Carnival Dream.

2013 New Year Card by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: American Crafts; Metallic Cardstock: WorldWin Papers; Stamp: Lawn Fawn; Ink: Clearsnap; Dies and Embossing Folder: Spellbinders Paper Arts (S4-324 Ribbon Banners; S5-112 Carnival Dream, S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A and EL-014 Holiday Magic); Adhesives: ScraPerfect (Best Glue Ever) and SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L (3D Foam Squares)

It's amazing what you can achieve it in 5 mins - PROMISE! I did this while watching TV :) I used the letter press technique the edges of the S4-324 Ribbon Banner by inking the edges of the die template (cut ridge side) before cutting and embossing - love the results!

Don't forget that Scrap-mart.com has a "Count Down to the New Year" Sale going on NOW! Don't miss out - sign up on their email list.

If you are interested in Spellbinders Cut·Fold·Tuck die template, let me share Spellbinders Try It Tuesday, a weekly YouTube LIVE show. My friends, Terre Fry and Ken Oliver, featured Spellbinders Cut·Fold·Tuck a couple of weeks ago - take a look at some wonderful tips and ideas on these wonderful die templates! ENJOY!!

As always THANK YOU for always stopping by and leaving me some "love" (aka comment) :)

Happy Birthday, Taka!!

Today is my oldest's birthday - EIGHTEEN!! How in the world did he get to be THAT OLD?! He was a little guy last I remember ;0P

See? This was taken when he attended an international Japanese school in the NJ/NY area back in 2001. This was his first day of school as a kindergartner. Luckily he doesn't check my blog - otherwise, I would be in trouble! HeeHee!!

Now look...a senior in high school...now how did that seriously happen?! OY~!! I am so proud of what he has become...a kind, well-mannered young man. Happy Birthday, sweet boy!!

For his birthday, his favorite meal - Japanese! Gee, no brainer! LOL!! We plan to go out to our favorite restaurant, DARUMA :0) For those of you in the surrounding Schaumburg IL area, it is a MUST GO for Japanese food!

And a card for him...

Your Special Day by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned Paper: Authentique Paper (Loyal Collection); Stamp: JustRite PaperCraft (Your Special Day Medallion Labels set); Ink: TSUKINEKO (Memento Ink); Pearls: Want2Scrap; Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts (S5-131 A2 Matting Basics A, S5-132 A2 Matting Basics B and S5-134 A2 Fancy Postage Stamps) and JustRite PaperCraft exclusive by Spellbinders Paper Arts (Medallion Labels); Adhesives: ScraPerfect (the Best Glue Ever) and SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L (3D Foam Squares)

Oh and his gift...this morning his dad called the insurance company and included Taka in the policy! He can now drive without ME in the car! LOL!! Remember he has a couple of more days till Christmas so he's good! HA!

So happy birthday, Taka! We love you!

Catch Up!

Hey, everyone! I have a lot of my plate but wanted to follow up with my Mom's Day cards. To my very pleasant surprise, my boys made me a card each! I have to say I was impressed and wanted to share a PROUD MAMA MOMENT :0)

I created the one on the left (details on my Mother's Day post), my oldest made the big one in the center in Chinese! He is taking Chinese class and is doing well. The one on the right is from my youngest son who is taking Japanese classes at his junior high school. So this year, the theme is international! LOL!!

I've got a few things coming down the pipe so be sure to watch tomorrow!! I'm HOPPING with joy...heehee!! A little hint (wink).

Have a good Thursday!!
