Easter Blessings Mixed Media Tag

Wishing you all peace and happiness during these extraordinary times. As we are under the "Shelter in Place" mandate in IL, I decompress by playing with my art supplies during my free time.

Today I am sharing an Easter Blessings tag created with colors from Jane Davenport with Spellbinders® Paper Arts. Using die cuts and patterned papers on my desk, this is what I came up with...let me show you!

**I receive products from Memory Palette Co., Spellbinders® Paper Arts, and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Easter Blessings Tag Basics

I covered a manila shipping tag with white paint front and back - couldn't find my gesso! LOL!

Fussy cut little tags from the MP-60140 Peter's World C-7-13 patterned paper. Then using a leftover piece of Adhesive Sheets 12 x 12-inch, I applied the adhesive on the back of each little tag. Then place them on the painted tag. Refer to the image for my placement. Trim off excess.

Next cover the front with white paint and paint brush. Let Dry.

Coloring the Background

Color the tag with three colors, I used from the bottom: Eccentric, Deep Vain, and French Kiss from the ColorStick Silky Skin set. Blend the colors with a moist Blend in Blender sponge. Layer more color until you get the desired look. Let Dry.

After the layer dried, I used a dot stencil with the Ocean Eyes DramaStick Waterproof Pencil Crayons in Spark (White) color. Make sure the dry time is long since it's an oil base. I dried it overnight. The next day, I created splatters by flicking a couple of Mermaid Markers in BlueBottle and Deep Sea colors for added interest.

Embellishing the Tag

Now the fun part, layering die cuts and paper cuts! First I started with a frame that I fussed cut a while ago from the MP-60263 A4 So Sweet One pattern paper. Adhere it with 3D Foam Strips - it's perfect for narrow areas to adhere to. Secured on a tilted angle in the center of the tag.

Add the leaves and vine sprigs die cuts to the left inside of the frame with Adhesive Dots Small.

I had a rolled blue spiral flower so I added it between the leaves and sprigs with an Adhesive Dot Large. Even on a painted surface, these adhesive dots work well!

Using 3D Foam Strips, I secured a little tag under the flower and added a blue rhinestone on top.

I stamped and die-cut an Easter sentiment on white cardstock. Then placed a pink rhinestone and 3D Foam Strip before adding it to the bottom of the tag.

Next, I adhered a butterfly die cut on the frame with an Adhesive Dot Small and added three pink rhinestones on the body. I also added blue and pink rhinestones randomly around the tag for more sparkle!

Lastly, I didn't like the ribbons I had so I colored a 10-inch white ribbon in Deep Sea, JellyFish, and StarFish from the Mermaid Markers set with water. Add more layers of color for the desired look. Let dry, thread through the opening and tie a bow. Done!
