Amazing Paper Grace | Holiday Medley Intro Blog Hop

This magical menagerie of dies helps celebrate one of the most festive times of the year through paper crafting! The Holiday Medley Collection consists of eight die sets and a Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Set that coordinates with one of the die sets. The array of dies can be mixed within existing die sets to offer more creative options. These include the Make a Scene Card Base and 3D Vignettes. The versatile new Merry Filigree Card Builder, Celebrate Scrollwork Card Builder and Joy Crescent Card Builder sets create different card formats from A2, A7, Mini Slimline, to Slimline. In addition, you can remove the Christmas Motifs and use them year-round. Visit each of the designers’ blogs for inspiration and ideas from the Holiday Medley Collection!

Today's projects were created with dies provided by Amazing Paper Grace.

My Projects for Today

Featuring the S4-1130 Silver Bells Dimensional Doily set, I created three bell shapes to better show off this sweet set. Like Becca's other Dimensional Doily series, you just die-cut, fold each side, and slide into the slits to lock them into place.

My 5x7-inch card features a vellum shaker card panel which I accented the upper right corner with the three Bells Dimensional Doily. See the gold backing? I die-cut with gold mirror cardstock to show off the intricate design of the bells.

The other card is a 6-inch square card which I added half of a round dimensional doily. Both cards have the S4-960 Cinch and Go Poinsettia flower. Just love this flower die set! I hope these cards get you into the holiday spirit!

Designer's Tip: You can cut three bell shapes at the same time. Make sure to secure the insert die with washi tape to avoid slippage when die-cutting.

InkyStamper: Fall Thank You Wreath Card

Hello Paper Crafters and Happy (early) Thanksgiving! I am sharing a fun interactive card today featuring a combination of stamp sets:  the Owl Stamp and Die Set, Market Tote Stamp and Die Set, and Cow Stamp and Die Set from Inky Stamper!AND it's an interactive card with the Like to Move It Dies and Clear Move Its Set. :)

**I receive products from InkyStamper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Creating the Card Front Layers

Cut three square card panels: brown patterned paper to 5.50-inches and plaid patterned paper to 5-inches, and cardstock to 4.75-inches.

Apply Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in. on all four sides of the 4.75-inches cardstock square. Remove top liner. Place a piece of Metallic Transfer Foil in Silver Holographic (color side UP) and rub gently with fingertips to transfer the color and peel off. If you miss a spot, reapply with foil. Set aside the layers to work on the wreath.

Wreath Making

To make a base, die-cut two circles nested together with cardstock to create a thin ring. Place on a piece of wax paper. With a sheet of Creative Photo Corners in Silver, cut them into strips by cutting the black inner liner.

Apply one on top of the ring with the point of a second photo corner tucked into the first. Repeat this until you go around to the other end, following the ring.

Take the same two circle dies, nest them together, and die-cut with a sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheet. Place the ring shape on top of the photo corner wreath.

Remove the top liner and place a piece of Metallic Transfer Foil in Silver Holographic on top (color side UP). Rub gently with fingertips to transfer the color and peel off. If you miss a spot, reapply with foil.

Remove the embellished wreath from the wax paper and center it on a 4.5-inch brown patterned paper panel. Then adhere to the foil edge cardstock panel.

Die-cut the round shape from the Like to Move It Dies in the center of the wreath panel.

Adhere the brown and plaid patterned panels together with the E-Z Runner Ultra Strong.

Add Crafty Foam Tape to lift the wreath panel and then snap in a Clear Move It in the opening before adhering to the layered panels. Set aside to stamp, die-cut, or color images.

Stamping Elements

Stamp the leaf from the Owl Stamp and Die Set in black ink on different fall color cardstock. Then die-cut its coordinating die.

Stamp the bouquet from the Market Tote Stamp and Die Set in black ink on white cardstock. Then fussy cut the shape and watercolor the flowers. Set aside to dry.

Stamp the sentiment from the Cow Stamp and Die Set in black in on white vellum. Cut into a strip with a ribbon tail on the right end.

Embellishing the Card Front

Using Adhesive Dots Medium, place the leaves on the wreath.

For the sentiment strip, I adhered with E-Z Runner Permanent Fine (vellum adhesive).

Secure the flowers in the center where the Clear Move It is with an Adhesive Dot Medium. Add the card panel to a white 5.5-inch square card base to finish!

Take a look at this short video to see it twirl!

InkyStamper: Passing Time Slimline Card Tutorial

Hello all! Seeing all these slimline cards on the internet, I thought I'd try my hand at it too! But I wanted it to be interactive so I made my cute truck slide back 'n forth on the card front. It's easy to do with a strip of cardstock! Let me show you how.

**I receive products from InkyStamper and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Passing Time Card Panel Steps

My slimline top-fold card base is 8.5 x 3.5-inches. I fold a sheet of 8.5 x 7-inch white cardstock in half. There will be three layers on my card front. Cut to the following:

  • Black Cardstock (bottom): 8.25 x 3.25-inches
  • Patterned Paper (middle): 8.0 x 3.0-inches
  • Orange Cardstock (top): 7.75 x 2.75-inches

Adhere the black and patterned card panels to the white card base.

For the pavement, hand tore a strip of 7.75 x 3-inch black cardstock about 0.50-inch off from the top. Adhere it at the bottom edge of the orange card panel.

Sliding Truck Feature

Stamp the Ralph and Truck image from the Vintage Truck Stamp and Die Set in black ink onto white cardstock. Die-cut it out with its matching die and then die-cut another truck shape in orange cardstock. With the same orange color, cut a 8.0 x 1/8-inch strip.

To make the truck slide, I am making a rail out of the cardstock strip and sandwiching the two truck die cuts with 3D Foam Strips to create a gap. See below how I place the foam strips. After I color the white truck die cut, the two pieces will be assembled.

Using a combination of Liquid Pearls, watercolor pencils, and black ink, I colored and created texture the truck. Set aside to dry. The clouds were extras I created from the Dragonfly Stamp and Die Set.

Once the colors dried, sandwich the two trucks below. I powered any sticky areas around the 3D Foam Strips with anti-static powder so that the truck would slide easier.

Thread the strip through the gap in the truck and test to see if it slides easily. Place a small piece of 3D Foam Strip to one end and adhere to the edge of the card front. Next, trim off the excess and adhere with the foam strip.

Finishing Touches

Stamp Just Passing Time sentiment from the Vintage Truck Stamp and Die Set with black ink. Cut to a strip and adhere to the back of a cloud shape that was colored in light grey. Place on the top right side of the card front.

Add another cloud on the opposite side and stickers to complete the card. Here's another look.

Amazing Paper Grace: August 2020 Die of the Month Blog Hop - Pop Up 3D Vignette Telephone

Hold the phone!!!  It has been an exciting week for us all!!  We've been waiting with bated breath to announce our Creative Team!  Many are waiting for their dies to arrive but two of our newest designers are joining in today.  Today we are sharing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for August 2020 -  Pop up 3D Vignette Telephone.  It's super cute and guaranteed to bring a smile!

**I receive products from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken, Spellbinders® Paper Arts, and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

If you missed our post about the new creative team, pop down to see the announcement on the blog.

3D Vignette Phone Details

We've spent all month making funny phone jokes and puns!  Do you realize this little relic is something that most teenyboppers haven't seen in person?  Just as with the typewriter, the phone is an iconic part of our history and technology.  Ever evolving, this phone will always be a part of our coming of age.  During the month we played "I Spy" to peek into how folks were using this die and this is what we found:

  1. A shaker card
  2. A notepad holder
  3. A mini 4-page scrapbook (which will hold Instax pictures)
  4. A gift card holder
  5. A card with multiple sentiments
  6. A basket

We're sure there are more, but in the meantime, here is some additional inspiration to pique your creativity.
There are SIXTEEN dies included in the Telephone Set
My Project Today using 3D Vignette Telephone

This 3D Vignette Telephone is just too cute! Yes, I used them when I was growing up and mine was pink! LOL! Zoom calls seem to be a popular way to connect with one another via the internet.

One of my reader's clubs wanted to try a Zoom Book Club Call. So I decided to create a card filled with questions for each of the slots and send it to the hostess.

Then I thought why not add a goodie bag to go with the card! What do you think?

I made a pocket behind the body of the telephone so that when you pick up the receiver, you get a cute "Let's Chat" message!

Designer Tip: Don't forget after die-cutting the telephone body and receiver, do the emboss step too! You'll get that wonderful embossed detail that really makes this set shine! I lightly water mist the cardstock before cutting and embossing for a crisp design.

Thanks for stopping in!
