Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: Sweet 16 Treat Box Banner Tutorial using E-Z Runner Grand Ultra Strong

Today I'm on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Blog and am excited to share my literally "outside the box" project using Spellbinders® Paper Arts Surprise Me Box Etched Dies from the Special Occasions Collection by Marisa Job. It's a Sweet 16 banner with a Bohemian vibe - what do you think?

**I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Spellbinders® Paper Arts for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use :) **

Let me show you how to create this dimensional banner!

First I need to change out my E-Z Runner® Grand Permanent with my E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong Refill. I use this type of adhesive when I am doing paper construction projects like these boxes.

These Grand Refills are so easy to change out - just drop it in. See the quick How to Use and Refill the E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser video below...

Next I cut the Surprise Me Box Etched Dies Base Die for a total of six with patterned papers. Assemble each box with E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong by applying adhesive on the tabs and put the ends together.

For the letters, I took off the top liner of 3D Foam Creative Sheets (determine how much you want to use and trim first) and placed patterned paper over it. Cut the desired letter with Spellbinders® Platinum™ 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Repeat the process until you spell out SWEET.

For a visual, see How to Use 3D Foam Creative Sheets video below...

For 16, repeat above step but without adding patterned paper. Once cut, you will add glitter to the front side by removing top liner and then pressing glitter over the exposed area. Tap off excess and set aside.

Cut Surprise Me Box Etched Dies Tag Die for a total of 12 with white cardstock. Apply a line of E-Z Runner® Grand Ultra Strong in the middle of two tags per box and center them together on top to form one shape. Remove the bottom liner of a letter and place on top of the two tags. Repeat for all letters and "16."

Close each end of box with an Adhesive Dots Large. Place one in the inside and squeeze all four sides to adhere (sometimes I used two Adhesive Dots if one didn't work).

Thread jute through the top of each box and it's ready to displayed!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Graphic 45 Blog Hop - Day 5: Tri-Fold Scrapbook Page Tutorial

Can't get enough of Graphic 45! So today I'm back on Day 5 with a tri-fold scrapbook page using a 12 x 12" patterned papers from their Cityscapes Collection. Loved how it turned out...

First I google searched tri-fold card and found many video tutorials on it. I basically used the same measurements on the score lines (2", 4", 8" and 10"). Cut from 2" score line to the 10" score line (with 3" from the top and bottom). Accordion fold the outer edges the same way and folded opposite way for the inside portion to get my page base. The grey cardstock is a better view of the cuts/folds.

Next I cut patterned papers for the outside edges of my page. The two long sides are 1.75 x 11.75" strips. The insides are 1.75 x 2.75"(4 pcs) and 3.75 x 2.75" (2 pcs).

The middle sections were two strips of 1.75 x 5.75" and all were adhered down with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

For the focal point, I picked out two sheets of patterned paper with an image of the Eiffel Tower. One as the base and the other to fussy cut and then layer with 3D Foam Square - White, Mix.

After that was done, I added 3D Foam Swirl Shapes as accents in the center. Pull the liner off and gently rubbed Pigment Powder Silver for a bit of shimmer and interest.

Since I don't like to waste what's left of the 3D Foam Swirl Shapes sheet. I cut the used areas and adhered it to the back of the focal point for dimension.

Now it's ready for display and I am so happy how it turned out! Here's a close up look...

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Graphic 45 Blog Hop - Day 2: Jungle Safari Pop Up Card Tutorial

I am thrilled to be a part of the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Graphic 45 Blog Hop - Day 2! My "pop up" challenge is a dimensional card using the Safari Adventure Collection with a combination of foam adhesives.

The card base was cut and embossed with my manual die cutting machine in black cardstock.

I cut pieces to fit the areas of the card base that were blank (with the exception of the middle) and inked the edges for a subtle finish. Then I adhered them with E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Next I fussed cut flower/leaf image from one of the postcards in the Safari Adventure Collection - Journaling & Ephemera Cards set, inked the edges, placed a 3D Foam Square - White, Regular on the back and adhered onto the card panel. Inside I trimmed and placed a postcard to write a note.

Then added orange and red glitter glue to enhance the accents.

After the glitter is dry, it's ready to send!

Thanks for stopping by :) Go visit Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Graphic 45 Blog Hop - Day 2! for more eye candy and a chance to win some giveaways - Good Luck!

San Jose CA Road Trip & Card Making Class

Earlier in the month, I went to visit my friend Emi Kume in San Jose CA. She is the founding editor of "Love My Memories" magazine, a Japanese papercrafting magazine, and is credited for bringing scrapbooking to the forefront in Japan. I am fortunate to be a contributing writer for the magazine.

The first thing we did once I got to San Jose was a visit to Scrapbook Island - one of my "must go" places on my list and I wasn't disappointed :) LOVEd that store!! AND I finally got to meet Laurie...we talked like we were old friends! Love that!

On the first day, we did a short tour around San Francisco...OMGosh, it's been over 20 years since I last visited! What a beautiful city! In about five hours, we covered the Painted Ladies (Alamo Square), Golden Gate Bridge, Union Square and Treasure Island...WOW! LOL!!

During my stay, I had a fabulous opportunity to do a card making class with her Japanese students, using Spellbinders® die templates and some techniques to kick it up a notch! This is what they created...

I love how you can mix and match different die templates to layer, to ink, to fold & tuck, to stencil....so many different techniques! (Pictures taken by Emi)

Here are the lovely ladies who participated in the class! THANK YOU & お疲れ様でした~!楽しい時間ありがとうございました。また、カードを一緒に作りましょう。

BIG THANK YOU to the following manufacturers who made this possible: Spellbinders Creative Arts, WorldWin Papers, David Tutera for Darice/Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock, JustRite Papercraft, Graphic45, SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVE BY 3L, IMAGINE Craft/TSUKINEKO and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft!!

It was such an amazing time and the much needed break from the intense CHA (Craft & Hobby Association trade show) prep! LOL! Thank you for an amazing time, Emi & family!! xo

Thank YOU for reading this far :)
