i-Crafter: Birthday in Boston USA Rosette Layout

Hello friends! Today I have a Birthday in Boston Layout featuring the Ribbon Rosette Die Set. It documents a trip I took with my husband to Boston, an iconic American city, and how appropriate as we approach America's birthday!

This is my second guest design project for i-Crafter this month! Did you see my first project with the Thanks Foiled Rainbow Box Tutorial?

A few years back, my husband took me to Boston on a combination trip of business and (my) birthday. I love Boston for its rich history with modern vibe. We stayed at the Langham Hotel which was the former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston renovated - SO COOL! We covered a lot of ground in the 48 hours we were there.

**I receive products from i-Crafter and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Rosette Construction

I grabbed red, white, and blue cardstock to cut one set of three strips for each color from the pre-scored strip die in the Ribbon Rosette. When creasing the lines, start with the end that has the larger scored section (the other end has a narrow scored section - think tab) and mountain-fold. Next valley-fold and accordion-fold till the very end where it ends in a mountain-fold.

Showing the white strips below where the tab end is, I applied a piece of Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in. (red-lined tape) - do this to all three strips. Adhere the ends together (tab section underneath the next strip) to make one long strip, and then finally both ends together to create a pleated ring.

Close the ring together by making the center opening smaller and secure it with a circle cut with a circle die from the Ribbon Rosette set and 3D Foam Creative Sheet. LOVE how it turned out!! Repeat with the red and blue cardstock strips.

Embellish the Rosettes

With some silver mirror cardstock, I die-cut three times with the decorative edge circle die from the Ribbon Rosette set. Again, die-cut the circle from the same set with 3D Foam Creative Sheets, and adhere one to each of the decorative edge circles.

I had a set of USA-themed stickers in my stash and realized they had gold accents - OOPS! But I've got a solution - why not combine them?! I nested the circle and Happy Birthday circle from the Ribbon Rosette set to cut a Happy Birthday sentiment circle with a gold mirror cardstock. To pop it up, I cut the leftover 3D Creative Foam Sheet and centered it onto the decorative edge circle.

Taking advantage of the other sentiment circles, I die-cut them in gold mirror cardstock and spelled them out to IN BOSTON for the white rosette. Since they're so tiny, I used adhesive sheets to adhere - so easy! For the last rosette, I added the USA banner from the sticker sheet.

Birthday in Boston Layout

The patterned papers I used I had for years because I loved them so much. Do you have this same issue? LOL! Today, I will use some to create my page.

On a blue 12 x 12 patterned paper, I placed two of my favorite pictures. One is of the Old State House where the Declaration of Independence was read to the public from the baloney shown. The other is of my husband, business friend/Japanese pro soccer player, Keisuke Honda, and me. We all are summer birthday babes. This was taken at a business function but we celebrated! LOL!

Using coordinating patterned papers, I cut 1-inch width strips and then die-cut the ends with the larger ribbon tail die from the Ribbon Rosette set. Excused the well-loved cutting mat pictured - LOL! I cut three strips and place them under the pictures. The rosettes acted as guides to help place the strips.

Lastly, I clustered all the rosettes right below the birthday picture with the leftover 3D Foam Creative Sheet in single layers and also stack a few pieces to bring height over the other rosettes.

Designer's Note: If you find that you do not want your journal to be seen, tuck your journal BEHIND the page so you can only see it or adhere an envelope with your journaling tucked inside.

Introducing the Amazing Paper Grace | Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes

Beautiful card front sentiments do the heavy lifting on a card and the recipient knows exactly what you are trying to say. In that spirit, today we are introducing a new collection called Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes. It spins beautiful, intertwined calligraphic words into a compact label shape, perfect for the front of your card.

***Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.***

Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Inspiration
Many Amazing Paper Grace followers were so thrilled when the first 3D Vignettes with word inserts came out. Over time, our followers have asked for a greater variety of words to fit into the 3D Vignette apertures. Your wish is our command!

Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection
The Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection is made up of 7 different die sets and a stamp set. Most sets contain a sentiment and a filigree background layer. Each set makes it quite easy to produce a complete card. The bonus is the sentiment shapes each match an existing 3D Vignette. Along with being able to complete a card, the new sentiments will allow another sentiment to existing 3D Vignettes already in your stash. Romantic Chargeour works with all the sentiments.

Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection also contains an "inside" sentiment set that matches the thought on the outside of the card. To top off the collection we've included Petite Floral Potpourri. It's a compilation of all the small flowers and leaves that are most requested by our community.

My Projects for Today

Using the S5-458 Happy Anniversary Vignette Etched Die Set, I created a shaped card and accented the card front with some of the flowers and sprig from the S3-420 Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set. Also, inside the card I stamped a sentiment from the STP-058 Beautiful Inside and Out Sentiments Clear Stamp Set.

My second project features a 6 x 6-inch box that I created from a combination of online tutorials so do a search and find one that you like. Using the same die sets, I made a box topper/double ribbon slide to go with the shaped card. It is popped up with Crafty Foam Tape over a three-layered box front. LOVED how this turned out!

Designers Tip: The sentiment from the SKU is very delicate so I used the Adhesive Sheets on the back of the papers before die-cutting the shape. It's less messy than liquid glue and you get edge-to-edge adhesive coverage (think sticker).

i-Crafter: Thanks Foiled Rainbow Box Tutorial

Hello friends! Today I have something special to share. I am guest designing for i-Crafter this month! So thrilled and honor to be asked :) Thank you to Niccole and i-Crafter for letting me play!

Do you love rainbows? It brings a smile every time I spot one. When I saw this Stitched Rainbow die set from i-Crafter...oh, the possibilities of all the projects I can create with this one set! Instead of a card, I created a 5 x 7-inch box to add a thank you gift for a friend. It has lots of texture, shine, and dimension! Let me show you how to create this!

**I receive products from i-Crafter and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Foil Rainbow Accent

For a dimensional rainbow, I used a sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheet Medium 6 x 12-inch and die-cut the rainbows from the Stitched Rainbow die set. Note: the foam sheet is thick. Just to make sure, I cut it through my die-cutting machine two to three times.

Leaving the opening pieces in, I remove the liners and apply three colors of Metallic Transfer Foil onto the exposed adhesives (color facing UP). Simply rub the foil to transfer the colors. Missed a spot? No problem, just reapply the foil over the missed areas.

The silver foiled rainbow needed something...pearls go with anything! There was a sheet of white self-adhesive pearls in my stash and I randomly added the smallest ones. Loved how they turned out! Set the rainbows aside and let's work on the box.

Rainbow Box Base

After searching online for a 5 x 7-inch box, I choose a combination of ideas to create one. If you are interested, do a search of your own for yours. Using the E-Z Runner Ultra Strong, I assembled the base.

Next, cut two front box panels to embellish, leaving a 1/8-inch border around each panel. Cut the Silver Mirror cardstock to 5 1/8 x 7 1/8-inches, and the Kraft cardstock to 5 x 7-inches.

For a bit of interest, I embossed the Kraft panel with a dotted embossing folder. Using the E-Z Runner Ultra, adhere both panels on the box front.

Embellishments

For the bottom ends of the rainbow, I hand drew and cut three different sizes of clouds. Edge with ink for definition and set aside. Using the same silver mirror cardstock, I die-cut thanks from the Stitched Rainbow die set.

Box Front

To finish off, adhere the rainbows to the box front by removing the liners first and add them in size order.

Place the two smaller clouds on the left end of the rainbow with the E-Z Runner Ultra. The large cloud on the right end with the 3D Foam Strips White. Lastly, the sentiment is added on top of the large cloud with E-Z Runner Petite Permanent Dots.

Add your gift, close the hinge and it's ready to give!
