Rita Barakat Designs: 2 Page Art Journal with Finders Keepers and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog Hop

CONTEST HAS ENDED - THANKS FOR PARTICIPATING!
CONGRATS TO THE WINNER!

Had fun creating a two-page art journal using a combination of three manufacturers' products who happened to be our blog hop sponsors today! I love how I can use die cuts with elements that were custom created with foil and embossing powders to match the theme. Take a closer look as I show you how I made these pages.

**I receive products from Rita Barakat Designs, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®, and Finders Keepers Paper Crafting for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Two-Page Journal Instructions

Using the pages from the Jots&Dots Dot Grid Notebook as a guide, I traced the back of the Puddle Jumper 12 x 12 Paper with a pencil. Then I cut and rounded the corners of the patterned paper to match the notebook pages.

Using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser, I secured the patterned papers to the notebook pages. I love using this adhesive for paper construction like this, boxes, envelopes, etc. This clear double-sided adhesive is immediately tacky and perfect for this project!

I didn't like the gap between the two pages so I took out the Puddle Jumper 12 x 12 Sticker Sheet and scored the rain boots border sticker in half.

Peel off the border stick and place it in between the two pages. Trim off the excess at the bottom.

Now the FUN part - embellishing! I placed 3D Foam Circles White Mix randomly around the bubble design in the paper. This pack had two sizes: regular and small. After placing, remove all of the top liners and sparkle Midnight Magic Embossing Powder. Tap off the excess and melt with a heating tool. YES! The 3D Foam Circles are HEAT RESISTANT! So fun! BONUS: Midnight Magic Embossing Powder glow in the dark! LOVE!

Choosing one of the fairies from The Veil of the Fairies Die Cuts was easy! Isn't this fairy holding a flower like an umbrella perfect?! I trimmed a bit more using small scissors to get the white background out of the way. Then I used leftover 3D Foam Circles White Mix and lifted the die cut in the journal page.

I cut out the "Rain Makes Everything Beautiful" sentiment from the Puddle Jumper Splashing patterned paper. After rounding the bottom corners, I added leftover 3D Foam Circles White Mix on the backside and placed on the second page.

On the corner of the sentiment, I placed two rain boot shapes from the 3D Foam Garden Shapes. Place one on the page, remove its top liner and apply Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in gold on top with the foil color side up. Rub the foil with your finger to transfer the color.

For the second page (above the saying), I stamped a few of the dotted lines from the Wishful Inking Ever Thanks Clear Stamp Set using silver metallic pigment ink. Then I sprinkled Midnight Magic Embossing Powder, tapped off the excess and used a heating tool. Love how the silver shows through some of the dots :)

What is missing? Well, we need rain so I added raindrops from the 3D Foam Garden Shapes which is perfect because they already have dimension to them. All it needed was some sparkle so I applied Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets in Variety Colors in teal color.

After adhering the drops on the paper, take off the top liner and place the teal transfer foil color side up over the drop shape. Rub the foil with your finger to transfer the color to the drop. Done and easy!

Here's a second look at the finished pages.
