Creating Keepsakes Magazine PUB~!

One HUGE Bucket List Item off!! So excited to shout out about my layout, Cousins, was published in a special issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine called Scrapbooking Boys and Men...

Under Rough and Tough Techniques, my layout was featured. I had a lot going on but was a TON of FUN to create - no project requirements, no deadlines, etc. Just doing something I like to do and BAM! A call that fit the need :) Pictured are my handsome guys and my nephew from Tokyo hanging out at our favorite restaurant.

See that camera, talk bubble and film strip? Those images are part of A Jillian Vance Design (AJVD) Foto Frames Stamp Set. One of my favorite sets and it has a matching die template set ({die}velop Foto Frames & {die}alogue Bubbles Die Set) made exclusively for them by Spellbinders® Creative Arts.

Although my family doesn't understand what the big deal is about...well, you all know, right?! Thanks for letting me TOOT my horn here! Still floating on Cloud Nine! LOL!!

Thanks for stopping by!

TaDa Creative Studios: Hey Chick!

Happy Friday!! Today is my turn on TaDa Creative Studios FaceBook. I decided that I wanted to do a fancy shaped card with a western twist to it = PHEW, that's mouthful! LOL!!

Hey, Chick by Margie Higuchi
Supplies - Cardstock: American Craft; Patterned Paper: TaDa Creative Studios (Yee Haw Collection); Brad: KI Memories; Ink Mist: Lindy's Stamp Gang (Starbursts Ink Spray Tiffany's Blue); Ribbon: Creative Impression; Button: Maya Road; Dies: Spellbinders™ Paper Arts (S5-090 Romantic Rectangles; S5-073 Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents, S5-030 Fancy Tags Two and S5-050 Rose Creations) and Adhesives: ScraPerfect (The Best Glue Ever) and SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L (3D Foam Squares)

So what do you think? I have to admit it's different but kind of like it. LOL! The patterned paper I used (Yee Haw Snippets & Clippets' B side) for the flower I think makes it work (the western theme). I misted it to add a little bling - love this Lindy's Stamp Starbursts Ink Spray Tiffany's Blue!!! I ordered mine from Scrap-Mart.com and it's at a great price :)

Other News:

I submitted a card for a call on Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine but wasn't sure if it was even accepted or not, until this came in the mail a couple of days ago!

So I flipped through the pages and found this!

What a wonderful surprise! LOVE how I can combine two of my favorite things - TaDa Creative Studios papers (Goody Two Shoes Collection - Straight Laced) and Spellbinders die templates (in this case, Spellbinders Shapeabilities® Cut Fold Tuck die S5-114 Spectacular Spin). SO excited and thankful for published opportunity!

OK...enough tooting! Off to create :0)
Thanks for stopping by!!

Weekend Stuff and For Japanese Scrappers!

Catching up here on what I did this past weekend...my youngest brother, Dave, was in the country and was able to stop by Chicago for a couple of days. The boys love when he comes, he adds comedy to the conversation (aka abusing the parents) - LOL!!

Also I attended the annual Crop for a Cause: Making MS a Memory! but only for a few hours since Dave was here and we had dinner plans at DARUMA.

Dave had to pick up some (heavy) books for his book worm daughter, I looked through some paper crafting magazines and stumbled upon this...

and to my surprise, this...

Totally forgot that I had submitted....senior moment?! YIKES!

I haven't posted anything new for my Japanese scrappers so this is for them (all in Japanese, of course! LOL!!). But for my nosey non-Japanese friends (a majority of you!), it is a "How To" scrapbooking book released Feb 28 in Japan by the fabulous editor of Love My Memories Magazine, Emi Kume. It took many months and sleepless nights to compile a picture by picture explanation on how each pages were done. Great for beginners and veterans as it covers many techniques, tips and ideas. I cannot wait to get my copy!!
