Asuka Studio: Diagonal Cut All Occasion Cards

Hello! Today I am thrilled to be sharing another card project for my Asuka Studio DT works. Featuring a combination of the Blooming Everyday Collection and the Forest Friends Collection to create two diagonal cut cards from a single sheet of 8.5 x 11-inch cardstock.

Diagonal Cut Card Bases

With a piece of 8.5 x 11-inch ivory cardstock on the long side (11-inch) up, score at 5.5-inch from top to bottom.

Next flip the 8.5 x 11-inch ivory cardstock to the short side (8.5-inch) to score at 4.25-inch, all the way down.

Cut opposite corners of the paper in a straight diagonal line to create two card bases with diagonal gate-fold style card fronts.

Take a piece of 4.25 x 5.5-inch card panel (one from Blooming Everyday Flower and Frame paper and the other from Forest Friend Accessories paper) and cut the same way - cut opposite corners in a straight diagonal line. Then cut 1/8-inch to create a border around your card panels and adhere to the card base.

Using Forest Friends 2 Cut Outs Nest Box and Forest Friends Cut Outs Gentil, I fussy cut pieces to add to the inside of the cards. I used E-Z Dots® Permanent to adhere the cuts to the card. The dots will only stick to the cuts and will not leave a stringy residue.

With an 11 x 1-inch strip of ivory cardstock, I wrapped it around the card to create a belly band. To bring more interest to the band, I added Forest Friends Washi Tape Banner.

With a combination of fussy cut pieces and cute die cut pieces from the Forest Friends Die Cut Papers, I added them to the card front corners and accented with Sparkly Bubble Rhinestone Light Pink and Rhinestone Light Green.

To decorate the belly band, I layered fussy cut pieces and die cuts with E-Z Runner® Ultra and 3D Foam Squares to provide a strong hold and dimension. Lastly, add Rhinestone Light Pink to accent the band.

Trim the excess on the belly band and adhere with E-Z Runner® Ultra. Slip over the card and it's ready to be sent! The second card was done in similar fashion.
