Blog Hop with CardMaker Magazine + Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

A little holiday cheer of a card to share with you, using Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside concept with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products! Welcome to Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® + CardMaker® Magazine Blog Hop and Giveaway! Stick with us to the end about the giveaway!

Today's theme is “Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside”, which means using various Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® products with different mediums to customize your projects. I'm using a combination of glitter, craft foil and embossing powder to create my PEACE & JOY HOLIDAY CARD.

**I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use.**

Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside: Premium Double-Sided Tape and Glitter

On a 5.25 x 4" card panel, I applied Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4 in. and Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/8 in. to the left side of the panel. Tuck the ends behind the panel, take off the top liner and sprinkle fine gold glitter on top of both. Press glitter into the tape and shake excess off. You have a beautiful border!

Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside: 3D Foam Shapes and Craft Foil

I took out two ornament shapes from the 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit and place them on top of the glittered border. Next, remove top liner of each shape, apply gold craft foil (colored side UP) and gently rub. The kit has everything to make your foiled holiday embellishments...no need for a tool, just throw it in your bag and go! Note: I cut my foil for easier handling.

Wear Your Adhesives on the Outside: 3D Foam Creative Sheets and Embossing Powder

Custom create dimensional embellishments with 3D Foam Creative Sheets - one of my favorite products! You can die-cut your favorite shape, words or designs and it will cut like butah! I used intricate design words. Placed them on the card panel, took off the top liner and sprinkled gold embossing powder. Tap off excess and melt with a heating tool. YES! This high-density foam can be heat embossed :)

For each corner of the card panel, add a Creative Photo Corners Gold to tie in the gold accents. Then apply E-Z Dots® Permanent Dispenser on the back and center onto a Kraft A2 size (5.5 x 4.25") card base. It's ready to be sent!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: Dimensional Pumpkin Bags Tutorial

Created a sweet fall project full of dimension and it's featured on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® Blog today! Fall is in the air and I had PUMPKIN on my mind so I pulled out 3D Foam Creative Sheets and my stash of etched dies from the Market Fresh Collection by Debi Adams to create my dimensional pumpkin bags!

Paper piecing a pumpkin from Apple a Day Etched Dies set with fall plaid papers was SO EASY! Equally easy was assembling sweet paper bags from Bag It n Tag It Etched Dies set. What do you think?

**I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Spellbinders® Paper Arts for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use :) **

Create these fun + sweet pumpkin bags.

1. Cut two bag shapes from Bag It n Tag It Etched Dies set with my Platinum machine. If you are using patterned papers, make sure both cuts have patterns going the same way. I stacked my two papers together and cut...less confusion! LOL!

2. Next, let's assemble the box. After scoring the folds, I inked the edges with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain and then adhered the tabs together with E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser...great for paper construction :)

Paper piecing a pumpkin.

1. Cover your patterned paper with Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6" and trim excess using your etched die as a guide. Cut with Apple a Day Etched Dies Pumpkin Front Die with my Platinum machine. Set aside.

2. For the pumpkin sides, I wanted dimension so I grabbed a scrap piece of patterned paper and covered with 3D Foam Creative Sheets. Cut with Apple a Day Etched Dies Pumpkin Side Die twice and Apple/Pumpkin Center Die once with my Platinum machine.

3. Ink all of the die cut edges with Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade. Then peel the bottom liner off and place on top of the Pumpkin Front die cut to make your dimensional pumpkin.

Making pumpkin details.

1. Using the leftover from the Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6", adhere a piece of patterned scrap to cut your Apple a Day Etched Dies Stem Die. From the same set, cut Leaf Die from patterned paper, and ink the edges with Distress Ink in Spruce. Using a covered wire, I created a vine accent by wrapping around a paintbrush handle.

2. Adhere all on bag front in the following order:

  • Peel off the bottom liner of the stem (using the pumpkin front die cut as a guide) and adhere.
  • With a Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini, secure the vine accent down.
  • Peel off the bottom liner of the pumpkin front die cut and center to the bag.
  • Tuck the leaf die cut into the Dodz Adhesive Dots Mini, and then add an adhesive dot to the tip of leaf and press to adhere.

Here's another look at the finished bags...

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L + Quietfire Design Blog Hop: Dimensional Holiday Thanks Card

Today I am thrilled to participate in Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® + Quietfire Design Blog Hop Day 1! I am showcasing a holiday thank you card because we need one, right? With products from both sides, this is what I came up with...

**I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Quietfire Design for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use :) **

Creating the card panel.

On a piece of 4.5 x 6.5" patterned paper, I secured the paper to my mat with Adhesive Dots Large Repositionable and then used it again (on the back) when placing the Flourished Frame Stencil on top of the paper.

These dots feature a non-permanent bond that allows removal and repositioning without reapplication or damage to surfaces. Confession: I went to do laundry (it's next to my studio), made my bed...left the adhesive dots secured like that for almost two days! LOL! Did my next step and took off the dots to no marks, tears, stain...nothing!

Apply a thick coat of Texture Luxe™ Pearl (a pearlized texture paste) on top of the Flourished Frame Stencil with a pallet knife. Lift the stencil off carefully and roll the Adhesive Dots Large Repositionable off the back of stencil before washing it off.

My frame will take a couple of hours to dry because of the thick coat I applied. But it is striking against the red patterned paper and will be worth the wait!

Make the word stand out.

From the 3D Foam Creative Embellishment Kit, take out the white 3D Foam Creative Sheet and place the Thanks Metal Cutting Die on top. Die-cut with your manual die-cutting machine and gently pull out the die cut from the sheet.

Take off the top liner of Thanks die cut and place silver foil (shiny side up) on top of Thanks. Gently burnish with your finger to transfer the foil to Thanks. Lift the foil and you will see a shiny silver thanks.

Then add Creative Photo Corners Silver to each corner for a little embellishing. Apply Crafty Foam Tape on the back (cover a little of the photo corners to secure) and adhere it to a black 7 x 5" card base.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L + Quietfire Design Blog Hop Week!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L + Lawn Fawn Blog Hop: Joy to the Woods Shaker Card

Today I'm up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog for their blog hop with Lawn Fawn. Excited to share with you all a shaker card with lots of glitter and more glitter! LOL! Using a lot of Crafty Foam Tape and 3D Foam Creative Sheets, I came up with this sweet shaker card. What do you think?

**I receive products from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Lawn Fawn® for use in my projects. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience and doing so I can share what I personally love to use :) **

Stamp on Glitter!

Trim the 3D Foam Creative Sheets to fit the Joy to the Woods Tree Dies to cut on. Then die-cut with your manual die-cutting machine. Take the top liner off and cover with white glitter. Make sure to gently rub into the sheet.

Using the Adhesive Dots Large Repositionable, place one behind the die cut to secure in place while stamping with black ink. Simply rub off after stamping. Love stamping on glitter!

Parts of the shaker.

Take another sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheets (my frame was too big for one sheet so take another sheet and trim it down to size, using the etched dies as a guide), place on my blue glitter cardstock and trim to fit the dies.

Next, nest the two etched dies together to create an open frame with light blue glitter paper. Secure with washi tape before die-cutting into your machine. Die-cut a solid rectangle shape with patterned paper and a slightly larger solid rectangle shape with acetate.

Making Shaker Details.

Placed a USED 3D Foam Shape sheet (I used 3D Foam Snowflake) behind the patterned paper rectangle for dimension. So don't throw away your used foam sheets! Set aside.

Then place the clear acetate over the open frame and apply Crafty Foam Tape over it, make sure the corners are tight so that no loose sequins fall out.

Inside the Shaker.

Add 3D Foam Snowflake in the upper right corner of the rectangle panel and sprinkle blue glitter. Then secure a couple of the sequins with Adhesive Dots Micro so that some will not fall down to the bottom when standing up the card.

Assemble the shaker.

Add the frame (take off the liner) and place on top of the rectangle full of loose and fixed sequins. Take off liner on the back of patterned rectangle, place the shaker on top of the grey card base. Next, adhere the glittered tree die cuts on the front with stamped sentiment vellum banner applied with E-Z Runner® Permanent Fine

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and some of the tips I shared! Have fun hopping along all week :)
